Where to get Piano lessons in Dublin

I hope I am not breaking the "Do Not Post Requesting or Offering Lessons! " rule here but...

I have been playing guitar for 10 years now and have always wanted to learn piano. Can anyone recommend a good school of music in the Dublin area (preferably city)? Also, would I need to have me own piano or how does it generally work.

Unfortunately due to work/other committments, I would only be able to commit to Friday evening and/or Saturday mornings. Is this enough to at least get started.

Thanks in advance for any advice :)

Waltons School Of Music above the actual shop on Georges street is a good spot. I was never there but I've only ever heard good things about them TBH.

Yeah I've been to Walton's school of music for piano, I'd rate them.
Leinster School of music is worth checking out as well. Both equally good IMHO. I was at both for a number of years with different teachers, no bad experience.
Once a week for lessons is loads !! A good teacher will throw enough at ya to keep you busy for the week. You will need a piano to practice, I used a Roland digital one for a long time and that worked out pretty good.
Of all the instruments I've had the pleasure in learning the piano is the one which requires the most time and commitment to learn. Hard work, but worth the effort :-)

Waltons School is pretty professional to be honest... A musical friend of mine taught there for some time a couple of years ago.

Now the problem here of course is in the student... if you go out across the web and take a look at the Waltons (the musical dublin family not 'John Boy' and the TV show) you'll see that this family are all artistic and musical geniuses... In my case I play guitar a little and I work in a strongly academic (mathimatical) job, which I love... which will always hinder me in anything artistic... So walton probably isn't for me because I'll never be a really good musician.

The Walton school is therefore run by extremely artistically bent tutors and management. So if your a musical type person OVER numeric then this is a good call... otherwise hire a private tutor, and there a ton load of those guys all over Gumtree and whatnot.

Now that's just my €0.02c worth!
