Chewing Phobia..

This is probably a bit of a strange one but I sometimes ppl chewing esp with their mouths open drives me crazy!!!

I thought it was something I may have developed over time but my brothers recently having a laugh and a joke with me said that when we were kids they must have obviously been annoying me because I actually started making really loud chewing noises back at them hoping to annoy them at the dinner table... Then they squirted me with the ketchup bottle :)

Though lately it's so bad if someone is really annoying me eating I make an excuse to leave the room so I don't get mad. Or if i'm in the cineama and I can here someone crunching a sweet I have visions of strangling them.

I knwo it's wierd and I wish I wasn't like this!! My bf thinks I'm nuts when he's eating and gets a dirty look for no reason whatsoever! (he knows my phobia though.. the one person that does know)

Anyway does this bother anyone else? What can i do to fix it!!

Id forgive your brothers for a start. Seems to be something to do with them, and some deep seeded resentment you have toward either them or their table manners.

I suffer from the same phobia. Try to avoid all circumstances where I have to eat with a few people I know

    This is not a phobia.
It's just something that annoys you.
You will just have to learn how to deal with it because people do chew.

Okay so maybe phobia was the wrong word for it. But it's worse than something that annoys me.
Things that do annoy me I can deal with fine with understanding/patience.
This is far worse I physically have to remove myself from a room sometimes as it just gets so on my nerves.
Sometimes I just want to hit a wall or something. I don't understand it or like it myself!

Obv it's my problem and not anyone elses and yes I understand ppl do chew..
And it is a perfectly normal thing everyone does it hell even I do.

I understand it's a completely unnatural reaction for me to react this way to ppl chewing. Ever since I was what 5/6???

I've tried to deal with it I really have but I keep just trying to avoid situations where I'm listening to ppl chewing. I feel crazy for it!

    Maybe I am crazy :(

Thank you! God I'm so happy that I'm not the only one who suffers from this madness :D

I know that seems maybe mean to say but it's a comfort to know I'm not alone and someone else out there understands exactly what it's like!!
