I'm intrigued by the bike lift notion. Appropriate for houses with 12 foot high walls but where else? Maybe it's a German thing.

There's a handy bike-tool the following week too:

I can heartily recommend the computer - looks like it was designed as part of the russian space programme but does all I need - a year in with no problems.

The HRM strap is a bit bulky compared with a polar but you can change the battery on it yourself.

Hmmm. I was on a bike trip in Scotland with Ghostrider and the same computer - I think - recorded a speed of 15kph. Thing is, we were sitting in a Little Chef at the time.

There are two kinds, a wraparound, and one with 3 different lenses that you can change.

IMO the one with the changable lenses is best, they have clear, a yellow and a normal sunglasses shade.

I use the yellow one and i dont get glare of car lights etc. It also makes it feel like its sunny out:D

That's pretty impressive: I'll mention it to Ghostrider (who actually owned the machine).

Jaysus. From the blurb - "Service reminder after 600km"

Some on here would never be out of the LBS if one were to get the bike serviced every 600km!

handlebar mount - but the manual does say that you can mount it on the left or the right hand side

I would say that might be a typo and it might be 6000km - hasn't come up on mine and isn't mentioned in the manual

It comes with a handlebar mount.

Mine lasted a year before deciding to go senile and display whatever speed it felt like displaying. As if that wasn't enough it also decided to take helpful naps where it displayed a speed of 0.0 while I was zipping along.

Also don't lose the instruction book 'cos the settings have to be the most un-intuitive I've ever come across in an electronic device.

Anyways your mileage may vary as it's difficult to argue with the price.

I'm a bit sick now I just received the exact same computer from ebay 2 days ago from Germany, and paid £stg 19.99 + £stg 5 p&p

Actually the mount suits both stem and handlebar, there is a little plate screwed onto the mount which you can rotate 90 degrees for stem mounting, the only downside is that the mounting is held in place with , basically, a rubber band

Sorry to thread hijack, but I thought it would be relevant in this thread.

Does anybody know when the Cycling Shoes (SPD Compatible) are going to be in Aldi? I certainly remember seeing them last year so I presume they will be there this year - I just can't remember what time of year they were in Aldi.
