Interesting to see that Forbes classifies 20 Cities as the whole world.....

i.e. BigMac meal in Switzerland is at least $1 more than in Ireland these days and I am sure other countries in Europe are higher as well.
I don't even want to know what you would have to pay for it in Tokyo (not that I eat that stuff anyway....)

I 'prefer' a different measure : how long do you have to work in average to buy a BigMac....

The second survey - how long average earner works to earn a big mac is considered a more accurate form of comparing costss in different countries.

the reason the big mac index is used is because the vast majority of costs associated with fast food operations are indigenious to the country they are situated in, (rent, rates, staff raw food, utilities etc) but the items sold are nearly the same worldwide, thus allowing people make an "accurate" reading of costs in different countries.

Unless it's changes the past year, McDonlads in London was always way more expensive than Dublin...

If you read some of the comments with the arctile, many of the prices are rubished, some swiss folk claim they are even more expensive
