Updating MediaPotal TV Server to scan Irish Channels

    Hi Folks,

    I live in Athy in Kildare and use MediaPortal to receive Irish digital TV on my 3 HTPC's located around the house . I find it takes along time to scan the channels in because I have to use the "UK-All Regions" tuning parameter on the TV Server.

    I know my signal is coming from Mount Leinster, that is where my indoor attic aerial points. Mediaportal told me the frequency I was receiving all the Irish channel on was "666000" on a 8Mhz bandwidth. I found this using the TV Server Configuration Tool by selecting the RTE1 channel and hitting the edit button.

    I've edited a file in the Mediaportal program folder to give me the tunning parameters for Mount Leinster and it now takes a couple of second to tune in my channels. The file that I edited using notepad is the "dvbt.xml" file in "C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\TuningParameters”. I added the lines :-

    <country name="Ireland - Mount Leinster" offset="167">
    <carrier frequency="666000" bandwidth="8"></carrier>
    </country>

    Now on the Tv Server pull down I can select "Ireland - Mount Leinster" and scan in my channels in a few seconds.

    Personally I think it would be nice if more of the Irish transmitter signal could be added to MediaPotal in the next release so If any body else could give tuning details for the various transmitters located around the country that would be excellent. Hopefully I can put an updated "dvbt.xml" together and send on to the mediaportal team or post it here.
