Okay maybe I'm imagining this but I'm sure there were orange tablet type sweets that came in a tube and dissolved when you put them in water and they tasted really bland, on second thoughts maybe they were some kind of vitamin c tablets that my mother fooled me into thinking they were sweets!!:D Can anyone remember them?

Heh, yeah, they are VitC tablets called either Rubex or Redoxon (there are two different brands) and they still exist. I swear by them when I have a cold, make a lovely (ish) hot drink :)

OP, you should try Berocca - just like Rubex but it tastes gorgeous and tangy!

Yea Rubex or Berrocca your Mammy was looking after ye! There were sweets in the 70's that were like a tablet of lime or raspberry sherbet you dropped them in water they fizzed into a drink they were cool cant remember the name of them though. There were orange & cola ones too probably major banned substances in them :pac:
