Eh, why are these two playing in the Scottish Open when the PGA Irish Championship is on? Should they not be playing at home? If it's good enough for Harrington to play in it should be good enough for them also.

    Is that a fair assumption?

Not really, no. The Scottish Open is one of the biggest events on the European Tour. Take a look at the prize money and the field at it...

Fair enough they might get a bit of links golf at the PGA, but i'd say the two of them are pretty confident about how to play links. Just because something works for Harrington, doesn't mean it would work for others.

By the way, what about McGinley, Lawrie, Murphy and the other Irish lads in Scotland this week?

    NO

Do your homework before having a go at our stars. One of rorys main sponsors own loch lomond. Shane isnt in the british open yet so this is his last chance to get in if he finishes in the top 5.

    Very simple really.

Not having a go, just though it odd. Two headlines on the Irish Times site related to golf, one about Harrington taking the lead in PGA Irish and the other one about two recently turned pro Irish golfers playing in a competition in Scotland.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who would like them taking part in competitions at home.

No. Agree with all said above.

The only reason the Irish PGA is on this week is for Padraig. It used to be on at a different time in the year when it wouldnt clash with big tour events. I remember McGinley, Harrington, McGrane and other regular tour players playing in it a few years back when this was the case.

TBH I think its a bit unfair on the regular PGA pros who play the circuit week in week out, in many cases struggling to fund their participation in the PGA region events and then the tour players, who would earn more at a ET event by just making the cut and finishing last than 1st place here, turn up for the biggest event of the year and win it. I know some of the Tour players play a few events on the Irish circuit but they arent even at the european club this week.
