Going to take the plunge and get married next year. We have decided to get married in Tuscany. Would have family arriving from Cork. Does anyone know easy it is for people to get to Tuscany from Cork?
Would be prepared to go somewhere else if Tuscany was too much hassle for guests. So alternative suggestions welcome. Thanks a million.

    Hi
We got married last year on the Tuscany border www.romanticitalianweddings.com. Was fantastic, we took Villa Baroncino.
But on the travel element, Ryan ait flies in Piza and both Ryan Air and Aerlingus fly into Rome. We organised buses to take guests to and from Rome Airport for those who were doing the full week, this cost a total of about €2000. But this was for 70 guests, so under €29 each return. Plus we made sure the area we chose had good rail links as the rail system in Italy in excellent and another 40 people travelled this way. The train jorney took about 1 1/2 hours and Ryanair run a bus from airport to train station in Rome, and for the airport Airlingus fly to there is a little train system taking you direct to the main station. Nobody, including 78 year old aunts had any issue and they all found the train system brilliant.
Best of luck and any questions drop me a PM.

Hello Barbiegirl and anyone who might know. We are thinking of getting married at Villa Baroncino. We just want to know what is around the area. Is there a town/village in walking distance from the villa with restaurants food shops or is it quite isolated? Thanks

Hi Cath Smith. It's a good 25 minute walk to the nearest village which hasn't much in it. You need cars to get to Passignano which has restautants, cafe's and bars. In tuoro the closer village, just past it you have the camping centre that Marco also owns, which has a decent enough restaurant, dj's and music until late. In truth nearly every night we all drank up in the villa, in the big sitting room in the annex section. As there were 46 of us up there, there was plenty of craic.
This is not a mad holiday but rather a quiet one. The guests should stay in Passignano those not in the villa, except those with kids and teenagers who will find the campsite fantastic, kids clubs, swimming, discos etc. and the cabins are great quality. Those in the villa advice them they needs cars. We were lucky my mum and my brother don't drink so there were people to drive, plus I didn't want to drink everynight. We got big people carriers to help.
Cortona is fantastic. About 45 minutes drive in a car away and worth every minute of the drive.
