    I'm a 20 year old male,

I need to know if id qualify for the dole, Ive worked all together for about 6 months paying PRSI (dunnes stores and as merchadiser)

I was in college this year and failed out, and looking to go on the dole, will i have enough credits for the benefit or do i go on the allowance?

I still do live at home, but i get absolutely nothing from parents, and they have said when i get my first pay check (dole) i need to move out , and they can say this to the social welface officer etc...

Any information would be great, thank you

Instead of "looking to go on the dole" maybe try looking for work? Also, its not a "pay check" you get.You have to work to earn that, you get an allowance to help you find work.
Anyway,You don't quaify for Benefit. Your allowance claim will be means test on your parents income because your under 25. It doesn't matter that you plan to move out if you get paid,a new means test will be done if you move somehere else.

If you sat your summer exams, you have to wait until the start of the next college year before you can claim anything. You could only claim allowance then, which is means tested, and your parents income will be taken into consideration for this.

I am looking for work, looking pretty hard too, nothing as of yet.

I meant I have to leave either when i get my first pay check ( from working ) or my first dole payment...

How is this means test done? My mother is unemployed and my father is self employed
