Im with voda. I can get my hands on an italian 3gs for a premium, factory unlocked.
OR
i can buy a speakeasy and jailbreak....but can i UNLOCK?

OR
should i port to o2 from voda and will i regret it ?



You tell me folks, and as always i appreciate your views.
What would you do if in my situation ?

Not the 3.0 software afaik. Perhaps another person will have more information, but that's what I've heard.

everyone is pointing me in the direction of italy, for a factory unlocked unit.
guess its the way to go as it opens up future software updates, plus i can change operators too

i'd say get one here and unlock, afaik they're working on or already have a unlocked the 3.0 3gs, i could be wrong.. but its not far off i wouldnt say.


i wouldnt port to o2, i've been with vodafone for years and a lot of my friends and family are on vodafone so free vodafone to vodafone calls and texts are a big winner in my eyes. thats for me i guess, you could be different!

3GS is already jailbroken and unlocked using purplera1n and ultrasn0w or by using redsn0w.

Guys, read the stickies at the top of the forum.

I draw your particular attention to the one titled "iPhone unlocking information - You can now unlock the 3GS - details inside".

Personally, I would buy a legally unlocked one if I could and if the price wasn't outrageous.
