Yeah, I thought it was good alright, There's no accounts posted on their website, no annual reports even.

They also didn't let the Cork Hurlers join this year, even thought they were intercounty players playing in the national league.....
No link to their rules on their website....

Yeah, I'm dubious about the GPA, though I like the idea of proper player welfare

The GPA seems to have an agenda to get players paid...end of story. Why did one of their founder members leave the org and admin it was about getting pay for players (sorry only elite intercounty player), so this is not a player welfare issue, this is a player payment issue - I cannot recall who it was but there was a fairly recent (and national story) of a player who had problems and even though a fully paid up GPA member, had not one call from them but did have contact from Padraic Duffy (then as the GAA's player welfare officer)...and that player admitted the GPA were nmot about player welfare. I would also ask the GPA why only intercounty player welfare...are other players not worth it too.

Maybe someone should start a Real GPA or something like that that will be a democratic representitive body of all GAA players...

So lads are you telling me that I cant join? I cant get a game with a Division 9 team. I am hugely committed to my club and coach kids 3 evening a week. I am as committed as any star who plays in Croke Pk but just dont have the talent.;):p. And while I am slagging a bit here what I do know is I am more valuable to the G.A.A than any of these in real terms and in the true ethos of the G.A.A

LETS CUT THE CRAP, The G.A.A should not recognise the G.P.A in any way shape or form. Dessie Farrell and Sean Kavenagh are bullying their way about the place.

The G.A.A have a welfare group with Padraig Duffy, Nicky Brennan and they are doing a good job. Jarlath Burns was a member of the welfare group not sure if he still is, will find out.

The G.P.A dont even want to negotiate and according to Nicky Brennan and Christy Cooney the G.P.A refused to budge an inch on their demands while Sean Kavenagh was very flippant about the money side of things. "ah sure its only a few thousand €€€€. I wonder did anyone tell Dessie and Kavenagh there is a shortage of cash at the moment.

The G.A.A. should not negotiate with them at all. And if tomorrrow the players dont give interviews to papers and R.T.E people should email their county boards and complain. They want 5% of the gate and this coupled with the loss of sport capital grants and now I believe a reduction in lotto grants would have a huge impact on the day to day running of clubs and the development of facilites for club players.
    Time for a new banner:)
