Advice needed for home workout plan

At the moment I dont have the funds to join a gym.. Ive been a member of a gym before and stuck to the routine fairly well...I think its the best way to motivate you and help you to stick to a programme. Havent really been training the last few months and looking to get stuck into again..Because Im not in a gym and I dont have to "get out there" to exercise, Im worried that I wont be motivated and I wont have a "proper structured plan"...

I have some equipment at home.. Ive an exercise bike, set of dumbells, and Ive an "Ab King Pro" which Ive heard is probably the best equipment for the your abs/core muscles..

Im 19, male, 9 stone 8, 5"9... The main aim would be to put on a few pounds by building the upper body..Not to worried about legs as I walk and run alot.
Can anyway give any advice as to how to start?? I just dont know where to begin.. I was thinking push ups. I especially want to build the chest and shoulders..Would push ups or weights be best for this?
Could somebody explain how exactly squats are performed and what muscles the train??
I want to have a structured plan that I think I will stick to.. I plan on using the exercise bike for cardio..The time and distance is broken on it so what would be the best thing to do, alarm on my phone?

Advice from somebody who works out at home would be best...Should I, like the gym, devise a plan, write it down, tick off what Ive done each day?

Ive usually been on a football team or the gym and never had to make up my own plan so Im confused on were to start.
    Any advice appreciated, cheers.:)

Throw the ab king pro away first of all-if ur gonna do squats at home buy squat stands- read weight training technique by Stuart McRobert for correct technique info- If u wanna grow you gotta have the basic compound lifts ignore the accessory exercises(maybe completely at first!)
You're waaaay better off training at home- no journeys to and from and no-one there to give you bad advice, also you wont feel compelled to rush yourself by adding too much weight too soon!
