i heard the mighty mouse is good.

but tbh if you are using it in college - or anywhere really - i would recomend using the trackpad.

it is great, easy to use, built in and doesnt haev to use bluetooth which wastes battery life.

same with bag - i originaly bought a laptop bag, one that throws over your shoulder one armed.

then i just bought a laptop case and threw it in my college bag - it doesnt get damaged as the laptop case is protective and i have it inebetween books and notes.
works great.... save space.. and is easier.

if your laptop is the plastic case like mine it will still not get damaged - but if its the aluminum it will probably even be okay in the bag with just a laptop slieve.

I'd stay away from the Mighty Mouse. There seems to be a major problem with the trackball getting dirty and then not working, requiring a huge amount of cleaning. I also find it annoying that you can't right click on it without first removing your left finger. Small issues but they'd annoy me if it were something I was using every day.

I have a wireless USB Microsoft mouse and I find it fantastic. You can use the wheel for both vertical and horizontal scrolling, which is a nice touch. My one criticism is that when using middle click, you have to hit the button in precisely the right spot for the click to register. I'd still buy another one though, although if I were going for one today it'd be this Bluetooth version.

i know you probaly asked for external mouse because you dislike the trackpad - but tbh you can not beat the macbook trackpad

The Macbook's multi-touch trackpad is fantastic! After using it for a month my mouse feels clunky in comparison.

    no doubt
i dont have multitouch - if i dd fwahhh!

even the regular touchpad is just so handy, as fast as a mouse, built in and doesnt use bluetooth and hence saves power.

Get a snap on Speck plastic cover, the clear ones I find to be the best but there are other colours if you want. You can buy the on the apple site. Best purchase I ever made as I still haven't a scratch on my macbook pro after almost 2 years!

I'd recommend the Logitech Premium Notebook Headset as a VOIP/Skype headset. The Microphone isn't in front of your mouth so the person on the other end of the call isn't subjected to any heavy breathing. I got mine for €40 in Peats.
