2nd interview tomorrow

Luckily in this market I have a 2nd interview tomorrow with one of the 'top 5 banks' in a higher-end adminstration role.

The 1st Interview on Monday was fairly relaxed, they went through my CV from first job to present job, explained my responibilities/roles in all. They next went through my qualifications, all fine there. Next I got the 'usual' interview questions such as - Explain a time when you felt under pressure and how you handled it, How do you prioritise your workload etc etc. You get the drift. I thought I came across pretty well and walked out feeling confident.

Can anyone shed light on what the 2nd interview will entail??? Some say its an informal chat others say they scrutinise you more. What type of questions will they ask? Its been about 5 yrs since my last interview!

I REALLY want this job, it would be great experience considering the big name of the institution.

Also another thing, when I applied for the job on irishjobs.ie it didnt specify what salary they were offering, just that it depended on skills and experience. But when I applied online it asked what my expected salary would be, i put down 33-36. Surely they wouldnt call me for interview if they werent prepared to offer that salary range, or am I wrong?

What should I say tomorrow when they ask what salary I am looking for, I hate giving an exact figure so should i give a Salary 'range' like 30-35 or 35-40 etc?

    Thanks

Congratulations, you made it through the first round of interviews and have been shortlisted for the second round. That means they liked what they saw and want to take it further.

At your second interview you will probably meet the same interviewer again. That way they can see if they still get the same impression of you. You may also meet some more people from the organisation. So expect similar questions, although they may go into more detail on some areas. Perhaps a psychometric test, although they probably would have mentioned if they are going to do that.

Don't worry about your stated salary. If this was a problem you wouldn't have got this far.

If they ask what salary you expect, say you are looking for the higher end of the scale you gave. They will try to negotiate you down to a lower level. Know what level you are comfortable with and stick with that.

Make sure you have done your research on the company. Any stories about them in the press? Do a search. Have a few questions prepared -What would my first week be like? What's your policy on training staff? Make sure you have clear examples of how hiring you could benefit them. What do you bring to the company?

You need to convince them that they want and need you. Best of luck
