Hi all, I'm 24 and recently dropped out of college due to the course being utter arse of the highest order. I'm planning on starting another one next year, but in the meantime, doing a one year course in St John's college, cork. AFAIK, St John's doesn't entitle me to any grant, but can I claim JSA or something?
I'm 24 and currently live at home, but I'll be moving out before the academic year kicks off.
    Help?
    Please?
    Pretty please?

No, as you are doing a course, you are not available and looking for full time work, and therefore cannot claim a Jobseeker's payment

But I can't claim a grant either? That's so lame! Lame!

You could apply for the vtos scheme.I dont think you'd get it though because I think you have to be on the dole 18months or something.
