Terms, duration of lease

    Hi All

Generally leases seem to be for 1 year with no get out clause.
For several reasons I want to have as much flexability as possible when getting a place in the next week or two.
Because of the surplus of rental property that seems to be available at the moment would it be reasonable to ask for a.) a 6 month lease instead b.) a get out clause with a one month notice period (from either side).
Or is this purely based on how eager the owner is to rent the property?

    Thanks

Most places will be happy to take a 1 year lease with a 6 month break clause. It means that at 6 months if you want out you can. Otherwise, why not just not sign the lease and try to get part 4 tenancy

Insist on sight of a BER Certificate and Advisory report for the property.
