Can't receive some transponders on Astra2

I have just installed a new 60cm dish and am trying to tune in a Philex Skyline box. I can get most channels with an excellent signal but can't pick up any channels from these three transponders: 10714H, 10744H and 10773H. These all show up as 0% signal quality even though I have 60-70% on most other transponders.

I have a Sky Box and it is able to pick up ALL the channels on these transponders with an excellent signal (from the same dish!).

Anyone have any ideas, please. Maybe the box is faulty but seems a bit unlikely, like having a radio that works perfectly except it can't get 98FM!

Hi there, I purchased the same Sky Line Free to Air from Powercity and I have 70% Signal Strength but 0% Signal Quality.

I checked out the following links but to no avail

    http://bytelive.com/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=How+to+align+a+satellite+dish

I rang their customer service but your man said to set to Factory setting and then play around with the Satelite dish.

I'm moving the Dish but the quliaty has not moved!

I put some comments in this thread http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055613575 about how I got the dish lined up that may help. I might mention that I did have to move the dish from its original position as trees were blocking the signal (I had 30-40% quality but it wasn't enough).

I think my problem now is that the signal is too strong!

I put an attenuator on the line and it worked but the attenuator is for terrestrial not satellite and smoke started coming out of it due to the LNB power supply!

I'm hoping it'll work if I point the dish away a bit!

If the receiver is really overloading because of the signal coming from only a 60cm dish, then it's a pile of crap and should be returned to the seller.

If you move the dish, you'll probably lose the signal on all transponders:eek:
You really won't have a "too strong" signal - the whole idea is to get a maximum quality reading when positioning the satellite dish. If your new receiver is getting most transponders (and your SKY box is receiving the CH4, RTE radio and BBC transponders ok), then the likely cause is some interference causing these particular transponders to "drop out".
Is the cable run to the Philex box running alongside the cable run to the SKY box? Could it be close to a wireless alarm sender or DECT phone or wireless router? Swap the Philex box with the SKY box and see if it can receive the transponders and vice versa.

i had a problem like that too.
stb was working fine. then one day i turned it on i could get most of the channels but not bbc itv ch4 and a few others.
same thing no signal from the transponder's
had to do a factory reset on the stb
i think it was something i did messing around in the menu
or maybe a fault caused by a bad shut down.
but the factory reset fixed it.... for now.
