I'd say midland is the only place they would let you use it. I couldnt even find a range that allows 22 mag or Hornet. All appear to be 22lr

some clubs won't even let you use .17 hmr or mach 2 , or even .22 lr high velocity rounds .

It's usually not a case of 'letting you' use certain rounds, it's more to do with what the club is authorised for and what is afe to use.

If you're shooting targets, .22 HV rounds are about as useful as ratshot anyway.

During the development of the 204, the engineers had the testing done at 220 metres for paper punching and it was considered good enough to compete at that range, although they also used it to take prairie dogs to 5oo yards as well.

I was going to get one but there not that popular and found my choice in ammo was limited. This put me off

How limited are we talking CS?

I've been v interested in one of these myself for a while as it looks pretty brilliant on paper. Flat to 250yds sounds like a good simple recipe for corvid armegeddon.

Though you'd need the facility/authorisation to load your own as it's a euro a round as far as I can make out, which makes for expensive vermin shooting.

Put my name on a remy VLS .204 today .Ammo seem fairly handy to get .Lots of 32gr on the shelfs here in ireland .Hoping to get some 39gr to try out .Ment to be a good round too. The 39gr .204 has a very good BC for mid range shooting .

    Excellent round :)

Not that popular because most people are convinced the 223 is some kind of magic round

204 has performed very well recently in the "fox" competitions in Midlands against 223's and 220 Swift and even 22.250

    I have had 223 & 204. 204 is a far superior round :P

Not that expensive compared to same spec 223 ammo in fact it is cheaper

    Federal do a 39 grain too ;)

That lad is a good friend of mine :D and a fine shot :p

While testing the 204 at 300 yards he found the 32 grain better from 200 to 300 yards ;)

    Ya his a good shot;)

What kind of 204 is it

Is it a custom  It looks fair well:p

I like the happy face he has on the end of the scope:D

How does he rate it

Hornady .204 cost the same as their same in 55gr .223(around 25 euro) .A good few rifles find the 40gr hard to stablize but most work well with the 39 gr.

Picked up my new .204 ruger during the week .While i was waiting for the paper work, i sent it to john greene in waterford for some him to do some of his magic .Nice day today so decided to try it out a little at 400 yards on paper .Cant believe how well them .204 performs. One of my 5 shot groups were 21mm C/C and most were 1" .Im reallly happy with the results .:D
