    Lads ,

Couple of quick questions that somebody might be able to assist with as I am about to embark on my first Fixie self build project.

    1) I am six foot four and ride a 21 inch mtb bike , what size fixie/old frame should I be aiming at , taken into acount that I might be buying a crap frame asomewhere that I cant ride and test for comfort.

    2) Is there any good places/shops that have a regular supply of second hand bikes that would be suitable for this type of build.

    Thanks in advance

    Kevin.

You should take a 60/61/62cm frame(road anyway), as far as I know City Cycles in Blackhall place have a few frames that size.(opposite the law society)

I'm 6' and bought and old Raleigh for a conversion job but I decided to stick with what I've got and the frame felt too big for me anyway (lets just say when I stood over it I could give the top tube a good polishing). So long story short, you can have that frame if you are really interested in converting it?

    6'4"?? Jaysus...

    60cm frame at least.

edit: join up here and post some photos of your build when it gets going.

Corman has collected the bike and he is going to check it out to see if it fits ok and if it doesn't he will pass it onto you

Corman: my slight cringing while shaking your hand was because I broke my elbow a few weeks ago, I forgot to mention it!
