X-Country Novice/Intermediate status - does it reset?

I'm hoping someone might know the answer to this one....

Many many years ago, when I was younger (19 at the time), I came 2nd place in the Munster Intermediates. It was once of those races where there was less than 10 in the race in the first place, and I didn't know that a placing would lose me novice and intermediate status to Munster level. Anyway, I injured myself out of running sometime after for a number of years. But now I want to try and do the cross-country season this coming year but not at Senior level. It's been 13 years since that placing - does anyone know if your status resets after a period of time? or once you've lost it to a certain level, then that's it? And finally, is it true, that a placing up to say province level, loses you that status to that level, but you could still compete at National Novice/Intermediate level?

I really just want to do local races to build up some winter running strength for the tri's next year. I've contacted the local club and they're looking into it, but if anyone knows the quick answer, greatly appreciated.

I was reinstated in Wicklow last year, had won the Novice and Intermediate, plus a couple of 2nds in the Seniors about 12 years previously. As I hadn't run for about 10 years and had turned Master my club just applied officially at a County board meeting and it was passed.
I expect it could be down to the local County Board.

In this case the OP broke his/her intermediate status at regional level so it would be up to Munster whether to reinstate or not. County board only have jurisdiction within own county.

Raise the matter at next county board to get agreement for county delegates to Munster to bring the matter up at next Munster meeting. Cross-country season approaching fast so depending on how often Munster Athletics meet better sooner than later.

County status only affects county, not province or national.
Provincial status affects province and county, not national.
National status affects all as does (inter)national representation.

e.g. One might simultaneously be eligible for senior only at county level, intermediate (and senior) at provincial and all three, novice, intermediate and senior, at national level.

Thanks for the responses everyone. Just got word, I can compete as a Novice again. I somehow don't think I'll be placing myself in any of them at this stage so don't think I'll be having the same problem again :-)
