Hi everybody just wondering if people can help us,I know its a bit early to be thinking about Christmas and New Years but a group of us have decided to look into bookin a Ski holiday for just after xmas to be away for New Years.

Just wondering about peoples experience of going at this time of the year,is it worth the money or would it be worth waiting til after the Christmas/New Years rush?? We are thinking either France or Austria.

we go every year for xmas and love it.

You are much better off trying to get as much skiing done before te 26th as possible as after that the crowd numbers increase 5 fold.

We were in Zell Am See this year - I have to say its a wonderful resort - nice size, good bars and a lot of good intermediate skiing ( not sure there is alot of blacks there ).

Cortina the year before - much quieter and being south of the Alps not a huge amount of snow being so early in the year.

In short - go with as much of the holiday before xmas day as possible, and go high on the north face of the alps.

hope this helps - ps there is a skiing forum on here somewhere.
