Why are low cholesterol goods such as Low Low, Flora pro-activ, benecol so expensive in the republic?

In sainsburys, benecol spread costs £3.67 yet here in tescos it costs 6.96 euros:eek:

Its an extra tax on people trying to eat healthier.

    Don't buy them!

Go to your chemist or health food store and you can get those plant sterols or lecithin in powder or capsule form. You can get 3 months supply for the same price as one of the large Flora Pro Activ tubs.

Aldi sell 4 cholesterol lowering yogurt drinks for €1.70. And a spread too. Moving to them from the other more expensive products has had no negative effect on my cholesterol.
