Three closure orders served for food safety breaches

Environmental health officers served closure orders on three premises last month because of breaches of food safety legislation.

The Food Safety Authority says the premises in question were Nupur Tandoori restaurant on the Rock Road in Booterstown, Dublin; Nwaneto Shopping Plaza Supermarket in Balbriggan, Co Dublin; and Harvest Moon Fish Sales in Duncormick, Co Wexford.

Closure orders are served when inspectors believe there is, or is likely to be, a grave and immediate danger to public health.

The FSA says the HSE also successfully prosecuted the operator of Akanchana's Honey Pot on Parnell Street in Dublin last month for breaches of food safety legislation.

I wouldn't of thought that place served food. There does be some chaotic parking outside that shop.

They don't serve food but do sell food stuff.

Issue was with the storage of rice (etc..,) out the back.

Slightly off topic, How do ye find fast food in North Dublin? I am not a regular in "the chipper" but on Sunday got a few bags and they were grease balls.

The reason I ask is I am just back from Italy and the Chips we had over there were super, Crisp yet not dry. Here chippers say they have traditional Italian food yet anything we got away was so different.

Also If the enviormental health officers looked a bit harder they would close down quite a few places.

Stay on-topic please. The quality of Italian chips has nothing to do with Food Closure Orders. LeoB - Start a new thread if you want to discuss this further. Thanks. HB

Well if ya look closley at some places that pass as fast food outlets and sell food over the counter I am amazed we dont have more closure orders.
The point I made may have been slightly off topic but closley related.

Its grood to see the Enviormental health officer doing there work as it should give us confidence.

There is no 'slightly' about that being off-topic. Your opinion of Irish fast food has nothing to do with environmental health. If you have a problem with this pm me. Do not argue this point on-thread and take it further off-topic. HB
