    Possibly the stupidest/strangest comment possible.

Anyways, to elaborate IABL's point. Yes, it is perfectly possible to put on weight in a healthy way. By 'to gain weight in a healthy way,' I'm assuming you are looking to gain muscle mass. The quickest and easiest answer to this query is that you will gain muscle mass by eating a more calorific diet and engaging in activity that stimulates your muscles and promotes growth. To simplify this further, eat more, especially protein rich foods and get a decent beginners weight lifting routine. To put it simpler again, squats and milk.

Perhaps you could add a few more details to your original post? That way it you might be able to provoke a better response on this thread.

ya, a mass gainer, such as serious mass. See supplements sticky.

As itsallabouttheL said though, just up your calories and protein. Milk, nuts, chicken are your friends. Wouldn't waste your money just yet...

its just not that simple. i could fill myself every day with food but it doesnt seem to make a difference. i also find it hard to heat healthy foods the whole time because of the effort of making them eg instead of making a bowl of pasta. i would eat a cream donut.

is there any harm in those supplements

It is that simple, if you can go to a shop to buy a cream donut you can open a tin of tuna, or grill a chicken breast......

Well thats just being lazy, it only takes 5 mins to chop up and cook a chicken fillet. I put on 5.5kg in 3-4 months by eating 6 meals a day which included one protein shake and goin to the gym 3 days a week. I used to think it was very hard to put on weight and was "eating loads" too, but it isnt. It isnt hard and when you get into its very enjoyable.

you could but you're wasting your time if your diet isn't someway right, and its very possible you'll put on excess fat depending on your training and the type of gainer you buy.

Your diet is easily 50% more important than your program. If your not doing the hardwork in the kitchen you aren't going to see changes in the gym.

basically all i want to do is gain a bit of weight.

It is easy to gain fat as weight, just eat more, what is more difficult is to gain useful weight, in the form of muscle.

All the information you need is in here. If you are serious about what you say you want, print out the guide and read and re-read it. It is the most concise source of correct information I've come across.

If you are not willing to folllow the guide, at least it will give you an understanding of how your body works and how your request isn't as simple as you seem to think it it is.

I've been tryin to gain weight the past 2 years and have fluctuated over 3-4kgs between 78kg - 82kg. I know you gonna say 'eat more' and 'up your calorie intake' but i'm eating meals every 2-3 hours. Have atleast 5-6 meals a day (as work permits) and cut carbs (bread, pasta, potatoes) out after lunch.

    Every day i eat:

    eggs
    chicken
    porridge
    fish
    fruit & veg
    wholegrain rice
    2 shakes

Tellin me to eat more than i do already would leave me with a serious hole in my pocket.

And to people saying my comment was stupid...no its not. If i were rich i can tell you now my personal trainer and chefs would have me putting on alot of weight the healthy way.

You are cutting carbs and trying to gain weight?

Anyway, Calories in > Calories out = weight gain. There is no arguing with that. Start counting your calories and I'll wager a large sum you are eating at below or just at maintenance levels. I'm sorry but you'll have to do the maths. Increasing your calorie intake to about 500cal above maintenance should do the trick.

Oh and good food doesn't need to cost the earth, I just bought myself a Kilo of unsalted Peanuts for €7.50, cheap snacking food.

just wondering if anyone could tell me their own weight gain diets or if anyone just knows a typical one .. you'd think there'd be loads on google but there ain't.. i'm a thin guy and it's kind of always been an issue for me. i was taking steroids for a while and they did work but if i'm honest i suppose i wasn't dedicated enough and kept missing them so just stopped that altogether.. i do agree with the guy that said it can be very expensive BUT at the same time there's alot of cheap alternatives to the more expensive ones out there now..

    anyway, any help is apprecciated..
