How long is best/safe to work out on a cross trainer?

I'm doing 20 mins at the moment 6 days a week followed by some weights(Not too intensive) - too little?

    Of course, sorry :)

    I'm 5 ft 7 and 10 and half stone.

I'm doing 20 mins on cross trainer followed by 2 sets of 25 push ups and 2 sets of 25 chin ups and 2 sets of 25 weighted (weight over head) sit ups. 50 squats ( No weight)

Ideally I'm looking to lose half a stone, build up on Muscle - looking to get lean muscle, Chest, Shoulders, Abs

I have pretty much changed my eating habits over the last few months also. Loads of fresh fruit - very little processed food.

I have lost half a stone so far in about 3 months, although the 20 mins cross trainer session was just a recent addition taking the place of a 10 min run

depends how fast you push yourself on machine. Quality always over quantity!

Depends what you do on the crosstrainer, I use it for about 20 - 25 minutes when I go, I do it on the 'random' programme and then do a pyramid with the level settings. Which makes it really tough going compared to the person beside me who does it on the flat at level one and then their speed is STILL slower than mine, there's no point in doing what they do.
