    Folks,

Can anyone give guidelines on the correct sizing of buffer tank to use with UFH and a 200,000 BTU oil boiler ?

    Best regards, Peter.

Thats an awfully big boiler

have you solar collectors connected to this thermal store?

    Hi Syd !

The house is circa 6000 sq ft... it has a basement floor. This is the size of boiler that was advised. I do have solar panels but they will be connected to a circa 350L high pressure hot water cylinder.

I know that if I want any sort of efficiency at all from the oil condensing boiler I need to use a thermal store. Just not sure what size. I am guessing around 2000L ?

The house is VERY VERY well insulated......

I think maybe a 1000L or 1500L would be much better... Anyone got any advice ?

Approx 10 Ltrs per Kw will give you an ample buffer future proofing for a biomss install later down the line

    thanks

Thanks for that... I ended up going for a 800L TiSun Proclean tank with a heat exchanger. Its arriving tomorrow so it should be interesting to see how it performs when we fire the whole lot up at the end of the week.
