    Does anyone have any info for a good way to get to Paris by train? Thinking of getting ferry to Holyhead then a train down to the Chunnel. Anyone have any experience, and nice cheap places to stay (even if they are hostels) ?

    From London Euston take the Northern Line (Southbound via Bank, Platform 6) which is a direct service to Kings Cross St Pancras Underground Station.
    Alternatively;

    From London Euston take the Victoria Line (Northbound, Platform 4) which is a direct service to Kings Cross St Pancras Underground Station.

    You should really opt to travel to London by Eurolines

    http://www.eurolines.com/

    Bus Aras to London Victoria excluding transfers to St Pancras is €37 by coach including the ferry. ONE WAY FARE. Return were available but I was only selecting Singles for the case of the pricing.

    From St Pancras London to Paris by Eurostar has loads of different pricing levels. You should check yourself for the correct times and dates.

    Wow, thats pricey. Ehm maybe we'll just fly.

    Anyone have any recommendations for getting a eurorail pass thingy?

    You can get a Sail and Rail all the way to London return for about 88 euro. Trick with the morning sail is not to get the first train from Holyhead, but the next one which is direct all the way. The first one involves one or two changes. There's also some 10 euro upgrade thing on the ferry where you get into a first class lounge with free wine and superior food - something like that.

    If you do decide to go, give us a shout and I'll check the exact details.

    Not sure about London to Paris but Eurostar says from £59 return!!

    stena has fares from dublin to london (sail and rail) from 44 euro http://www.stenaline.ie/ferry/rail-and-sail/holyhead/

    and yes i have done that journey, its been roughly 10 years now, accommodation is on the expensive side in london, i have stayed in the generator hostel in berlin and it was nice, it has a sister hostel in london. try hostelworld they may have lower rates http://www.generatorhostels.com/

    Thanks all. I may just get the ferry from Dover - Calais. Any nice places to stay out of Paris? And should we avoid Disney at this time of year?
