23 year old guitarist with good gear and good voice looking to start a new band.

I'm based in Dublin and have been playing about 13 years.
The sound and writing style I'd be going for would be similar to the band's I've listed in the thread title.

Ideally I'd be looking for non-guitartists right now.

Anyway, send me a PM if interested and we'll organise a jam.

    Cheers
    -Paul

Sorry, the PM function doesn't seem to be working:

    Hey,
We saw your thread here, and made an account to reply to you. We're a bassist and drummer, both aged 19, don't let that put you off, we're both experienced musicians, who've both played together and in seperate experienced bands.
    We're looking for a guitarist/singer/frontman.

We've played together for two years in the same band, gigging during school, but we broke up due to lack of motivation and creativity of the two other musicians in the band.

We've gotten back together after finishing school, looking to jam and write together, and maybe develop into something more serious over time. Our goal is to be ready to gig with a few songs by mid-September. We wanted to know if you were interested in getting together, just to jam and try some stuff out.

Our influences are quite versatile and varied and we're open to most styles of music. Our main ones are: Foo Fighters, Incubus, Audioslave, The Who, Led Zeppelin, RHCP, RATM. Rise Against, Queens of The Stone Age, Elbow, The Mars Volta, Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky, Muse, NERD, TV on the Radio, Alkaline Trio, Jimi Hendrix, Metallica and Thin Lizzy. To name but a few!

We listened to the bands in your thread title and of the one we didn't know (Dear Hunter) we enjoyed, we know and like all the other ones.

We're based in South Dublin, and we have our own soundproofed rehearsal and recording facility.

If you want to get together and play a bit, Pm us, or email us at acelesshigh@gmail.com

    Cheers,
    Niall and Sam.

Im big into Circa Survive and Thrice, not so much into Elbow and to be honest I havent heard enough Porcupine Tree to form a proper opinion of them. Im working on a new band at the moment and need a guitarist with strong vocals for harmonies. It'll definately contain elements of your influences but ill be straight up with ya from that start its not exactly on those lines. Its very very low tuned stuff, think Meshuggah type tuning but aiming towards the more ambient side of heavy rock, Deftones, Thrice etc. If it sounds like something you might be interested in drop me a pm and if not no probs.

    Hey Splinters,

Sorry I'm only getting back to you now.
The Meshuggah type low tunings aren't something I'd be up for or really suited for right now especially with the gear I'm using these days.
My main guitar is a Gretsch White Falcon which is much better for Circa Survive, Thrice type overdriven guitar tones.
