    Hello,

My car broke down the other day, I luckily (or should I say not so luckily broke down near a garage. The mechanic is a friend of a friend so he came down with a tow rope, attached it to said friends van and tried to find the towing eye, which he couldn't, he actually attached it to the power steering pipe and totally mangled it, even after another lad said you can't attach it to that, it is a pipe. We left it with them overnight as it happened as they were closing.

I called the next day at 2pm and they hadn't even touched it, think they didn't want to get involved even though it was their fault so my bf arranged for it to be recovered to another garage. The bill came to £325.

If I sent that bill to the cowboy garage, can I expect (legally) to receive payment from them as they were responsible for the damage?
