Hi all, thinking of getting a sky + box, would I be correct in saying I could get my hands on a second hand box and using a ftv card I could use to digital audio to connect to my AV amp without any non subscriptions issues.

nearly all the channels are available without a card.

with the new cards being rolled out it will be hard to find one.

I bought an old english FTV card last year on ebay for 20quid.

I have an Irish Sky+ box.

With the card despite i pay Sky no subscription i can record all the FTA channels.

I also receive Sky 3 and the variations of Channel 5 but they wont record only the FTA channels. :D

I havent a clue how it works but i'm certainly not complaining.

I also plugged out the phone line just in case sky try to de-activate the card over the phoneline as i thought they may automatically do this to cards periodically.

It would be interesting to know can others out there with Sky FTV cards get the plus feature for free like mine does?
