I know that this rumour has floated around in the past but this is the first i've heard about it in a long time.

Don't know if it would be in the best interests of Ferrari as Rossi will be 32 by then, not saying he will be a washed up has been by any means though.

Anyone else got thoughts on this?

I would be surprised if it happens, why would Ferrari be allowed to run 3 cars, hardly fair on the other teams!

Massa's contract is up in 2011 i think, and i'm sure Domenicali and di Montezemolo would have no problem letting him go to hire and Italian driver instead. Begs the question why they didn't hire Fisichella a few years back when he was putting in decent performances with Jordan & Renault..

Na the rumor was Ferrari were going to run a third car for Rossi to race.

In the last week or so Rossi said it's bs and said he wanted to race bikes for three or four more seasons.

AH didnt hear about that part, wonder what all the fuss is about so. Surely Ferrari wouldnt be permitted to run a third car just for him. And with his track record on 4 wheels it looks like WRC would be his destination..

i think theres some changes coming to how many cars a team can run I'm not sure though, di Montezemolo mentioned something about it at the press conference after the FIA and FOTA made up

The reason they didn't hire Fizzy was coz Schumacher wouldn't allow it.

He didn't want an Italian team mate.

Rossi said recently that this will never happen now.

The reason the never hired Fisi is because he is palin and simply a midfield runner. Always was.

Kimi and Massa are contracted to Ferrari till end of next seson 2010. BUT
I think Alonso will Take Kimi's seat next season and we will see Vettel take Massa's seat 2011.
Kimi will go to WRC next year driving Fiat and Massa..??
Alonso has already been fitted out for his Kit :D

    Cool picture.

You're right about Alonso and Vettel, Ferrari are expected to announce Alonso at the Italian GP and it's no secret that Vettel is lined up for 2011.

Disagree about Fisichella, I'm not his biggest fan but to be fair to him he only had to drive in a decent car when he was past his best and ended up with Alonso as his team mate.

He did a good job at the start of his career in the Jordan and his move to Benetton couldn't have happened at a worse time. It was crap cars from then on.

Ferrari did express an interest in him but it was shortlived.

Would hate to see Kimi leave F1 but to have Alonso in the red car would make up for it big time.

Back on subject. Rossi ain't going near F1.

agreed he seems to have a real passion for rallying, not sure if the same enthusiasm is there for F1

Don't know why Vettel would jump into a Ferrari to play second fiddle to Alonso when he's sitting in an Adrian Newey car. Contrary to Ferrari fans belief, they are not the be all and end all.

As for Rossi in F1 - eh.... no.

    Only a matter of time!
If Ferrari didn't have kers they would be challenging at the front by now. ;)

In fairness it's 10 years since a Newey designed car won the championship, he ain't the be all and end all either and like it or not, most drivers on the grid would give their right arm to drive for Ferrari.

Newey and Byrne between them dominated the sport for about 15 years. Ferrari went a lot longer than 10 years without winning anything I seem to recall. :)

Yeah and they spent the last 10 years winning the majority of the constructors titles.

led by 4 men who no longer work for them and whose successors haven't done what you might call a sterling job with this year's effort. :)

They won it last year and like i said Ferrari ****ed them selves over by committing to KERS. They have the best KERS/car package but the instability under breaking, the lack of engine breaking and balance/centre of gravity/setup issues due to kers is killing them. Judge them next year.

Of course the funny thing about KERS is that McLaren developed it over a decade ago and were told by the FIA it was illegal. So much for Max's innovative ecological drive. :)

Biggest load of **** he ever came up with, if it is already in road cars its too late for f1 to be innovative by implementing it. As for Williams going with a flywheel solution what the **** were they thinking, madness.
