Good cycling routes in Cork?

Hi folks, me and some others are going on a cycling holiday from Dublin to Malin to Mizen as you may know. We have the route worked out til there but we must map out a route from Mizen back to Dublin, for those of us who intend to cycle. Through Cork we would be thinking of roughly going Bantry-Macroom-Blarney-Youghal.

Does anyone think this is a good idea and do you have ideas for nice quite roads to go cycling on?

Hey Hurlin, Thats a nice route with some fantistic country and the road are in good nick, if you do it make sure you stop into Gougane Barra.

If ye want something a bit more coastal you could look into Mizen, Skull, Ballydehob, Skibbereen, Clonakilty, Courtmacsherry (they say its a great drinking town with a fishing problem ), Kilbrittan, Ballinspittle (watch out for the moving statue...)via Garretstown beach), Kinsale Cork

Thanks whack! I reckon that I'll have other opportunities to visit the coast. I also expect that there will be a lot more traffic on roads near the coast in the peak tourism season.

Yeah that would be cool. Our last night will be in Bantry, so we will be cycling from there to Mizen head on Sunday 19th July. Then I will be heading east!
