Gardai lost my property

A few months back I posted that my beloved 50cc moped was vandalized by the local scum

Went down to the local station to report it.
A squad car came up a few hours later.
We found the front panel which was ripped off thrown over a wall. So the gardai took it away for fingerprints, he had a plastic bag to carry it in.

I got a letter from District office giving me the garda's name and a pulse ref.
And I even got a phonecall 10 days later from a lady in the Phoenix Park offices telling me the panel was checked for fingerprints and I could collect it from my local station.

All good so far but wait........
The garda can't find it! Two other gardai down there can't find it. In fact, they don't even know if it's in the station or still up in the Phoenix Park.
I've been down to that station several times now looking for it. I think they're sick of me at this stage

It's not expensive, only worth about 60 euro and I'm not going to raise hell over it.
But I need it back to repair my bike
So what next? It's been mislaid somewhere, are garda stations like hotels & gyms and have no liablity for personal possesions?
I was hoping I wouldn't have to buy a new one. Money is tight, probably why I can only afford to run a moped.
