How ya folks! Im new to this running lark. Doin it bout 3weeks properly so b4 that i've had no fittness. Im at just over 3mile bout 4 times a week and gunnig for the 10k by md aug. Im just wonderin if Im eatin right? Im after givin up the bottle until i can reach the 10k then a night out and back to the drawing board for 15k. Literally my diet consists of morning: cereal two toast + tea, lunch ham salad roll, dinner either pasta and chicken or chops and baby spuds n veg. I presume this is as healthy as they come but i aint an expert. Also Im tryin to loose a bit of a beer gut but not weight cause i aint big or heavy just an unwanted pudge belly. The time for action is now!

Hiya deisecelt, well done on the new lifestyle. I'm not a nutrition expert but what you describe isn't too bad a start. But you worry me with just a salad roll between breakfast and dinner. You're lacking fruit in that routine for example, so maybe snack on some fruit, nuts etc during the day.

Other than that it's pretty well balanced I'd say, though don't stick rigidly to the same things all day every day.

Oh, and vary those runs a bit too. Put in the odd one a bit shorter and faster, and one a week increasingly longer but a bit slower. Give yourself a goal 10k race and you'll get there in no time.

    Good luck.
