I bought a tifosi CK3 on wiggle a couple of months back and I am having some trouble with the gears the last couple of weeks.Basically it keeps on slipping on the low/light gears, this is doing my head in as I had to turn back from going up the hill of howth yesterday because of it.

Does anybody have an advice on what it may be..?I believe its a Shimano Sora CT groupset.

just sounds like cable stretch. There is a knurl in the back of your rear mech where the gear cable goes into you mech. Turn this knurl to-wards the wheel by 2 clicks. Now get on your bike and see if the problem still exists, If it does give it another 2 clicks and so on until the problem goes away.
Shimano gearing is all based on a perfect tension set on your cable.A new cable will stretch a little bit which is normal and so will need the tension to be 'replaced'

Problem shifting onto larger sized cog (smaller gear) at the rear -> cable is too tight, needs to be loosened.
