On finding and/or buying an old (abandoned) classic what do you have to do to get a new log book if it's missing?

Shouldn't be a major problem to get.
Although the owner has moved to OZ.
The fella holding the car has to find the keys first:rolleyes:
Why do we put ourselves through this sh!t?

if the vehicle is not registerd to you ,you need to make a statutory declaration you need to ask for the form in the tax office, take the vehicle to a main dealer get him to verify make, model and chassis no then go to a commisioner for oaths or a solicitor get him to witness you signing form declaring it is your property ...then go back to tax office and give it in ,no big deal but they wont give the new documents until you tax the vehicle. hope this helps
