If you've been an employee for at least the last 2 years, then you should get Jobseekers Benefit.

First off, are you unemployed and genuinely seeking work?

What has all this got to do with a legal discussion?

If you're over 25, your parents' income is not taken into account for your means test, so if you have no income you will get the full amount of jobseeker's allowance.

If you qualify for jobseeker's benefit (through your prsi contributions) this is not means tested and so there is only the full amount.

If you are under 25 and not living at home, are the parents taken into account?

No, it's only if you're under 25 and living at home.
