CAN U GET THE DOLE AT HOME OVER 25??

    hi i'm 25 and living at home and wondering cud i get the dole?? both my parents are recently retired. i heard that once ur over 25 u can get it but not sure.

    Anyway, I'm sure you can. I know a guy who is about 36, and has been claiming dole since he was 18. He's living at home.

    The retierment thing, depending on how much they actually get (ie, if they have a pension that gives them a ridiculously large amount of money, welfare will assume that your parents should be capable of covering you, and they may not give you anything) but generally I'd assume that you'd be entitled to it.


    Only one way to find out...

    when you are living at home it is means tested on your parents joint income,if you have been working for at least 3 yrs and recently laid off it will not be means tested and you should be entitled to it

    If you are 25 or over you are entitled to the full amount and are not means tested on your parents income.
