How is everyone feeling about the results for the CAP 1 exams?

The only one I was concerned about was management accounting. But I heard they are changing the weights of the questions to help more people pass.

I heard there was problems last years management accounting exam from my friends who are a year ahead of me. So I thought this year it would be grand but no joy. Dont remember seeing some of the questions anywhere on the course material. Bastards!

Hope friday goes well for everyone

The only 2 i'm really worried about are management accounting and tax. Wouldn't mind so much if I failed tax because I know i'd get the repeat, whereas with management accounting, there's no guarentee of passing the repeat!

I thought those 2 exams in particular were very difficult. Don't know if you've read the exam report prepared by ACASSI? It basically voices concerns about elements of all of the papers. It states that in Management, the exam did not represent the material covered in the course and that in Finance, a paper which was expected to be mostly computational ended up being mostly narrative. They also mentioned about the income tax comp in the tax exam having elements that were unexpected. They really must be trying to cut the numbers this year by putting unexpected/ random material in the exams.

Where can i find the ACASSI report?
I don't see myself passing management...so annoyed about it because I spent so much time on it compared to the others - shouldn't have wasted my time! Not even sure if I'll pass finance...
The others should be ok hopefully!

You can get the ACASSI reports from this link - http://www.acassi.ie/education.html

Pretty much everyone I know who did CAP1s seems to be in the same boat in terms of not knowing whether they passed or not and being pretty p*ssed off about the whole thing. I must say, it's a depressing time to be doing these exams and waiting for results given the potential consequences of failure and the lack of prospects should that happen.
