I feel a bit stupid posting this but for the last few months i've been gambling. As usual with gambling you lose! i've probably lost 600 in 6 months but really i'm poor otherwise and shouldn't be gambling. Everytime i'm down i say 'never again' i do it mainly while killing time because i have to wait around in the city but feel so bored. I say 'i'll go to net cafe or the library or some food' but i go in and i gamble.

I know i've got a problem with it and i say no no no but end up there and i dunno what to do about it. I feel stupid going to gamblers anon or something of the sort because i'd probably be surrounded by people who have lost thousands and it has wrecked their lives.

Has anyone been? do they ask you to say the amount you;ve lost or can you go and just say i've a gambling problem.

    First time i wrote :)

You probably need some help if you are betting just to kill time or to get a buzz.
If you cant help yourself at least keep your stakes very small and stick with betting on 50/50 shots 10/11 odds that way you should manage to break even. Avoid the dogs and horse racing at all costs.

    Good Luck.

I think, if you can't stop on your own now, then the problem is only going to get worse until eventually you do go for help. So it might as well be now, when you're on the first rung, so to speak, as later down the line when you might have done untold damage.

Don't look at this as massive life change or anything, cause that always freaks anyone out. All you have to do are two tiny things.

    1. Find out where your local gamlers anon meeting is, and when

    2. Go

you don't have to say or do or commit to anything at the meeting, just go. It's a tiny step, and if you like what you see, then you can make an informed decision as to whether to take another step or not.
