    goin pdla, tenerife on 12th july for a week just wonderin wat its lik? lik nitelife, beaches, etc

    Playa de las Americas is a big resort with a lot of English style pubs & food. The beaches are nice. Take a taxi to Los Cristianos one of the nights for a change of scenery - it's very near but has a different feel to it. Go on a day trip around Tenerife if you're interested in seeing other places - the other side of the island is completely different & worth seeing.

    tonnes of drunken people from the ages of 18-25 at that time of the year for sure, the beach at playa isn't as good as the beach at Los Cristianos (which is a short 15 mins walk from playa), you can also go whale and dolphin watching tours from the harbour there next to the beach

    nightlife in playa centers around the starcos/Veronica's strip area (personally i hated this area of playa), you have to deal with people working for the bars/clubs trying to drag you into their establishment (this gets very very annoying after the 3rd or 4th bar you pass) :mad: you also have to deal with the guys selling you sunglasses and the women selling you toys and they are everywhere

    public transport in tenerife is excellent, you can get buses away from playa to more tranquil places like los gigantes with its black sandy beaches and towering cliffs

    don't miss a trip to teide national park while in tenerife

    i agree, theres alot of drunken louts over there. was there a few years back. los cristianos is fab, for shopping and has a beautiful port down there..fantastic by nite:)

    Sitting here in Los Cristianos right now actually. Just been shopping to PDLA. Its done a lot to clean itself up in recent years. Its quite classy now during the day with lots of fancy shops mixed in with the Bazaars.

    At night it gets quite rowdy down by the veronicas strip. That place goes all night and along with starco across the road, if you want to party, thats where to go.

    This is really a nice place to come, but it depends on your scene. If you are booked into young and lively (the caribe), you will get just that. If you are booked into Parque Santiago IV, then it will be much more laid back and quieter.
