iPhone network switchover time (prepay)

    I'm wondering if anyone knows how long it takes for the iPhone to switch networks, on prepay. I'm with Vodafone, and I'd just like to know if it takes hours or even days to switch over to the O2 network if/when I purchase a prepay iPhone. Or is it an almost instant switch?! Sorry if this has been asked before.

    It's almost instant. The process of moving your number from one network to another is called porting and takes about 2 hours. Usually it only takes about 5 mins.

    If you're signing up to O2 bill you'll have to go through a security check though which involves calling back about 2 hours after filling out all the paperwork to collect phone and begin the port.
