Is the sweating you are talking about located just at your armpits or is it an all over problem like on your face etc?

Is there anything else besides sweating happening? High blood pressure, collapsing or anything abnormal like that? Might be an idea to go your doctor either way.

Could just be a nervous reaction.
When younger I too used to perspire like this.
Got very self concious about it and surprise surprise it started to happen more and more.

Luckily I cottoned onto the fact that it was mainly me triggering it. That was the first step and helped alot. Went through some calming / breathing exercises. Also cut out tea and coffee - anything with caffeine for a long time.

Does it still happen - yes a bit. But now I just try to laugh it off - does not always work - ie sometime when I get self concious about it gets worse - but when I force myself to breath deeply and calm it really does help.

Doc might be a good start for you - but another idea and don't laugh is a hypnotist. The hypontist can basically retrain you on a subconious level to move past the self-concious stage.

Best of luck with this - as one who knows - yes it is not nice. But have hope there are ways to deal with it and move on. :)

    cheers, thanks for the feedback.

i actually did beat it for a while but recently the sweats have come back worse than ever.
i know its all my own doing cos i get self concious when in big crowds or talking to someone who i see as more popular than me.
doing breathing exercises seems to help the best but its just that when it starts i get even more self concious and it becomes flop sweat.
and its mainly my face and my back that sweats

Then maybe the hypno is your best bet.
Thing is you have beaten it once - so you definitely will again :)

    cheers for the support.
to be honest, i dont think hypno is for me...just a bit of self believe.
its a great relief to know i'm not the only one that suffers from this and that it can be beaten!
