    Ramallah or Bethlehem.

Never heard anything about health spas.

I didn't visit ramallah but is that the town that has the biggest casino (and refugee camp) in the middle east? Bethlehem struck me as being a bit of a one trick pony. Apart from the church of the holy nativity it seemed like just another city. Jerusalem is stunning, regardless of your religious persausion, but again, a short visit would suffice.

If you head south to the dead sea, lots of tourists go to the numerous health spas there, where you are considering would be for the more serious traveller.

edit: I should add, Israel/Palestine is a fascinating area but when i visited it was before the second intifada(sp?) and the wall being built, so i'm not sure how easy it would be to travel around now, especially flitting in and out of Palestinian authority areas. I guess it kind of depends of what sort of trip you are expecting to make and what you are looking for.

    Thanks for the info.

I suppose what I'm looking for is to visit a Palestinian town with real Palestinian charcter more than anything else.

I think there are still some Palestinian towns in northern Israel that haven't ben ethnically cleansed yet so would plan to head up there too.

Would definitely be planning to hit Jerusalem especially before all the Palestinians have been cleared out.

Jericho might be a good place to hit, just a suggestion.
