Great initiative. I liked the first show but I would recommend you looking into the volume between segments. Some of the fillers are quite loud compared to the rest of the podcast.

    Keep 'em coming!

Have you tried any other podcast players, ones that show time elapsed or time remaining are nice. Just being nit picky but its nice to know the length of the podcast. No other suggestions really.

I'm failing to download it as an mp3, when I right click the media player and choose download song it brings me to a bad url.

I'm not sure why that is but I'm sure Iain will respond to this in the morning. I know he's playing a live event tonight.

I was very happy with the show as a first effort, especially considering Iain and I never met in person until we recorded it.

We'll resolve the volume and sound quality issues for the next show.

We're recording the second show today. Hopefully we'll get to talk to Nicky Power from Vegas later. Plenty of other good interviews with Irish players lined up. Looking forward to it.

Also thanks to all the Irish in Vegas who listened to the first show and gave us feedback.

Good luck to everyone left in the ME. Fingers and toes crossed for you.

I don't know of anyone else doing an Irish poker show. If you are referring to messyjays show then they were not the first either.

This show is not for Americans or for the UK, it is for Irish Poker. We do cover other poker news related topics, but normally with an Irish Slant. This show is for the Irish Poker scene.

Have a listen and see if you don't like it.

Ah sure ye are years behind lads, musician and BigDragon were doing these way back when :D

Anyways, best of luck lads, since the above ones died after about 4/5 podcasts there has been little with an Irish slant on it. I may listen to the one later at some point.

The best thing to do with good ideas is to make them better. :)

The response shows there is plenty of room in the market and I believe Jesse and Matt's show is wrapping up next week.

Any chance you could cut the music,

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,610 ✭✭✭big_iain

    Thanks Mellor.
I like the music but as so many have commented it needs to be at the right volume so it doesn't bust eardrums.

Can we keep the music under these terms?

Yeah maybe thats it, reduce the volume of it so its a good bit lower than voices. I think thats the problm, I have the ipod on max to hear voices, then the musicbreak busts eardrums.
Anyway, only managed to get them all on sunday, so listening to 7 straight now. Interesting so far

good show, the bankroll management talk could go on for ever because you also have players who dont seperate there poker money from there normal money and would be impossible to teach them otherwise

edit: maybe not impossible, but very hard
