Boards Athlete of the Quarter - David Gillick

    The Benildus old boy David Gillick has won out the Boards Athlete of the Quarter for April-May-June. The merciless voting panel who take no prisoners are really getting into the groove now and taking this serious. It was tight for a while but Gillick eventually won out. Special mention to Ciara Mageean who gets in among the testosterone and finished joint 2nd with Hession and Smyth. Probably shows how highly she is regarded by the fans! Why Gillick won -

    "winning good races in good times, sub 45 has to be close"

    "Great wins in Milan and Greece"

    "he has really bounced back after the drama of Turin. I may be mistaken but I don't think he's lost an outdoor 400m this season. Also his times have been excellent, so close to a N.R and his 21.38 was pretty swift too"
