Should I get ACRyan Playon!hd or wait for WDTV2 ?

I've been wanting to get a mkv player for a while. So far I've been eyeing the WDTV but never got it because it doesn't have network. There's now news that WDTV2 is coming, similar to WDTV, added network. But there's no news of when it will be available. And I cannot find pics or links to specifications.

The other player is ACRyan Playon!hd. Also plays mkv, has network, and an extra that it supports a 3.5" internal harddisk.

If I get the Playon!hd, I probably would put in a 1TB hard disk. I can imagine it's convenient to have an internal hard disk, but is it necessary? What's your experience?

What do you think - should I get the Playon!hd now? or wait for WDTV2?

Have you looked at the networked media tank players, such as the Popcorn Hour, iStar and eGreat to name but a few. Support H.264 in MKV up to 1080P and lots more. What's more there is a great user community who develop extra apps for these plays such as jukeboxes, skins etc.

Yea those have been around for some time, friends have them. It's fun to play with as a gadget, the addons like you said. But no fun to use. The interface is slow, boot time is slow, crash sometimes (probably because of third party things), and most importantly photos are very very slow. plus the prices are higher too. So I've stopped looking at those.

    Looking for something newer.

I'd way till theres more reviews of the realtek type media players (playon, xtreamer etc). There meant to be a bit faster than the popcorn a110 processor including photos but i wouldnt risk it till I saw postive reviews.
