Garmin - Noise and Frozen Screen

    Was reviewing stuff on my Garmin 305 Edge today, when the screen froze. None of the buttons work, and I am stuck with the same screen display (the menu).
    Also, the device is emitting a high pitched noise.

    Been doing this for 2hrs now.

    Has this happened to anybody.
    Does anybody have a solution.

    At the very least I would like a speedo and cadence monitor for Saturday.

    Have you tried the reset options?

    Power + Lap = hardware reset (hold 10 sec)
    Mode + Lap = software (hold 10 sec)
    Lap + Start/Stop = data purge (hold 10 sec)

    suggests:
    To reset the Edge 305, when locked up, press and hold the Reset + Power buttons. If the unit does not turn off, then press and hold the Mode + Power buttons until the unit turns off, then release the buttons.
