    my nct is up at the moment but im booked in for the 17th of this month..i have a letter stating that in the car..does this mean im not going to be charged if i get caught by the gards if i show them the letter?

    If you get a w***** of a guard, he'll cause a fuss regardless. That said, when the new points system came in, a guy from the NCT (or AA - I can't remember which) came on the radio and said that people should keep the letter with them when driving to 'help explain the situation'. So if you have the letter with you you should be fine.
