Not a house by the looks of it. The gardai stopped & searched a car at Balrothery. Most likely in transit.

    from the same article:

Two men were arrested and a follow-up search of a house in the area, which uncovered drug paraphenalia, led to the arrests of two more men.

Can the media not tell the difference between Balrothery and Balbriggan...It was the same when that chap was found in a field in "Balbriggan"....that was Lusk....
Now I know Balbriggan has its faults but surely they should take the time to find out where things are happening before sending to print etc.
    - Sorry, rant over!

Balrothery would mean nothing in the national press, Balbriggan is the nearest large urban center and therefore it gets reported as Balbriggan. In fact Balrothery, Dublin would probably give people the impression it was in Tallaght.

It's hardly important one way or the other considering Balrothery is often addressed as Address, Balrothery, Balbriggan.

I think it's important. OK Balrothery is closely assoicated with Balbriggan, but this isn't the first time in the past few weeks that headline news was reported to have taken place in Balbriggan when quite clearly it hadn't.

I'm sure if Balrothery, Rush, Skerries, Ballough, Lusk or any other area in the vicinity won a tidy towns or blue flag award the residents would be upset if it was reported nationally as Balbriggan. In fact, I'm sure the the residents of Ballough/Balrothery are quite happy that these events were reported to have taken place in Balbriggan.

As Dotts says, Balbriggan like practically every town in Ireland has its problems, but lazy ignorant journalism like this, again from RTE and the Times amongst others, just compounds it.

I'd be very surprised if the above won a blue flag ;)

RTE and Irish Times clearly stated that the body in the first case was found 4miles/6km outside of Balbriggan, and that the drugs find was in Balrothery. The headline may have mentioned Balbriggan but as stated above this is purely to give the reader a quick bearing. Who knows where Balrothery or Ballough is? The main body of the articles give exact locations.

Anyhow if you somehow still feel Balbriggan has been wronged why not make a complaint to the press obudsman and let us know how you get on?

I'd be surprised if any of them won a blue flag (awarded might be the right term), but you know what Im saying.

Just to correct you on what RTE and the Times 'clearly' stated on both incidents.

In relation to what happened a couple of weeks back. RTEs first report said that it was found in Balbriggan. I pointed out the error and it was changed to 'near' Balbriggan (not saying they changed as a result of what I said, but it was changed). Later that evening a new headline was put up 'Balbriggan body...'. I contacted them again and it was changed to 'Dublin body...' shortly after (you can see this in my previous posts). The Times originally reported this as Ballough, Balbriggan...despite Ballough being geographically closer to Donabate and Skerries which would be fairly well known nationally even if Rush/Lusk aren't.

In relation to yesterdays incident, there is no mention of Balrothery in the Times or RTEs original reports, they both say Balbriggan.

I might take you up on the ombudsman offer...if it happens again!, thanks for the link.
